17/12/12 Shebbear are back in the County 10's

After Torrington withdrew from the competition the county re-instated Shebbear to play Anstey.  The first leg was played last Thursday the 13th December; the singles was a draw, the pairs lost by one shot, the triples won by one shot and the fours lost.  The score stands at 3pts - 5pts.  The return leg will be played at home on Wednesday 2nd January and we will need to win three disciplines to be sure of a place at Exeter on 2nd February.

28/11/12 Shebbear go to the next round of the Alan Wright Trophy

Away to Goodleigh we added to our points total.  There were wins in the singles, triples and fours.  In the next round we will face either Christ Church or Beaford.

28/11/12 Don't forget Christmas spoons on Monday 10th December

We will be playing our normal Spoons format but with a break for food and drink.  Please come along with a plate of 'finger food' to share and your own drink.  Lets have some festive cheer!

23/11/12 40 point lead in the Alan Wright

On Wednesday evening Shebbear played at home in the first leg of the trophy.  We had good wins in all four disciplines and finished with a handsome 40 point advantage.

It's always a pleasure to play such a friendly club and just as they struggled with our mats, I'm sure we will find that we need our advantage when we visit them next Wednesday!

1/11/12 Shebbear out of the County 10's

In the second home leg we were unable to win enough points to overcome a strong Torrington side.

 Good luck to them in the next round of the competition.

30/10/12 Oaks knockout Wick

The Oaks played away at Wick on Monday and secured a win in the first round of the 'Tony Stephens Knockout Trophy'  In the second round they will play at home and meet either Holsworthy Rivers or Stratton Yellows.

30/10/12 Acorns knockout Morwenstow

The Acorns have beaten Morwenstow 38-12 in the 'Tony Stephens Knockout Cup'  They go into the second round where they will play away at either Woolsery A or Langtree.

24/10/12 County 10's first leg.

Away to Torrington for the first leg they played their home advantage well. We managed to draw in the fours, in the singles we lost by 1 shot, the pairs by 6 shots and the triples by 3 shots.  

The return games at home next Wednesday and Shebbear must use their home advantage to win in all four disciplines.  

8/10/12 Acorns vs Shirwell new date.

The home game will now be played on Thursday 14th March 2013

5/10/12 Acorns vs Shirwell - Delayed by roadworks!!!

The first game of the season for the Acorns didn't go to well, in fact not at all.  Poor Shirwell encountered a Bideford gridlocked by the gas main repairs taking place over the next few days. One car did manage the trip but the second broke down.   We are trying to fix dates in March to replay the fixture.  Watch this space.

7/9/12 North Devon Singles Championship

If you would like to have a try in this Championship, Shebbear has 4 places in the competition.  Played over 10 ends on a knockout basis during the second week in November.

Interested, then let the Club Captain know and the 4 names will be drawn at random at the pre-season meeting.

28/8/12 Well done Shebbear 'Rockers'!

In this years Summer league, Division 1, our 'Rockers' team have finished 2nd close on the heals of winners Winkleigh.  Well done to them all.

The 'Mods' in Division 2 haven't faired so well.  It looks like our position is safe, we're currently third from bottom, but the final league standings are waiting on Westward Ho to play 2 more games.

17/8/12 New league format

The North Devon & Cornwall league have decided to create two evening leagues; teams of four and a new triples.

Shebbear has remained in the fours league, entering the Oaks (Division 1) and the Acorns (Division 2).  The committee would have liked to enter another team into the triples leagure but clubs can only enter one league.

To help to ensure that everyone who wants to play gets a chance, we now have a single fours team entered into division 2 of the Merton league.

Shebbear 'A' will be playing in the winter afternoon triples league in division 5

12/12/11 Albery & Shute

Shebbear will be hosting the competition on Tuesday 13th March 2012

13/11/11 Alan Wright Trophy

The second leg of the Alan Wright Trophy against Langtree was played on the 23rd November.

Shebbear went to Langtree with a 13 point lead from the first leg.  On the night the 'singles' and 'fours' held the home team to a draw; the pairs were beaten by six shots; the triples, trailing in the first few ends came back very strongly to win by one shot.

With a win of 8 shots from the two legs Shebbear will face either Hartland or Merton in the next round.

The news today 12th December, is that we will face Hartland in the next round which must be completed by February 5th 2012.  So watch out for the dates and try to come and support us!

15/11/11 Xmas Party on Mon 5th Dec!

Xmas Party this year will be on Mon Dec 5th  at 7pm.  The original date clashed with a cup fixture and the alternative of having it on the Thursday was not thought to be attractive to members.
